Sunburn Expands Globally with Europe Debut, Launches Croatia Sail Week 2026

Introduction

India’s leading electronic dance music platform Sunburn has announced its entry into Europe with the launch of Sunburn Europe Croatia Sail Week 2026, signalling a major step in its global expansion strategy and the rise of destination-led festival experiences.

Sunburn Enters the European Festival Market

Sunburn has unveiled its first European edition in partnership with The Playmaker Group, marking a significant milestone for the homegrown brand. Scheduled for July 2026, the week-long festival will take place across Croatia’s Adriatic coastline, aligning with the globally recognised Yacht Week.

The move positions Sunburn as one of the few Indian-origin live entertainment platforms to establish a presence in Europe’s competitive festival landscape.

Tapping into Experience-Led Travel Trends

The Europe debut reflects a broader shift in global travel and entertainment, where audiences increasingly seek immersive, destination-driven experiences. Croatia, known for its vibrant music tourism ecosystem, provides a natural backdrop with its mix of historic venues, beach clubs, and island circuits.

By combining travel, culture, and music, Sunburn’s new format aligns with evolving consumer preferences centred on experiential tourism.

Leadership Perspective

Karan Singh, CEO, Sunburn, noted that the brand’s evolution is driven by changing audience behaviour, where festivals are no longer confined to a single venue but extend across journeys and shared experiences.

Kristijan Grzetic, Chief Marketing Officer, The Playmaker Group, highlighted Croatia’s growing prominence as a global hub for music-led tourism, adding that the collaboration introduces a recognised Indian brand to European audiences while fostering cultural exchange.

A Multi-Destination Festival Experience

The festival is designed as a ‘floating’ experience, beginning with yacht boarding in Split and Trogir and progressing through key coastal destinations. The itinerary includes an opening event at Kamerlengo Fortress, beachside sessions at Zlatni Rat, and a signature raft party at Stari Grad.

Key stops such as Hvar and Vis will host curated experiences blending nightlife, dining, and cultural exploration, including events at landmark locations like Fort George and excursions to the Blue Cave.

On-Water Hospitality and Programming

The on-water component will be delivered in collaboration with The Bucketlust, known for curated yacht-based travel experiences. This integration ensures a seamless blend of premium travel and entertainment across the festival journey.

Music programming will feature a mix of house, techno, and commercial EDM, delivered by an international artist lineup. With no fixed stage, the surrounding environment—coastlines, open water, and historic sites—becomes an integral part of the experience.

Strengthening Global Brand Positioning

Following its expansion into the UAE, Sunburn’s Europe entry underscores an accelerated international growth phase. As the brand approaches its 20th anniversary, the move signals its transition from a regional leader to a globally relevant entertainment platform.
