RARE India Adds Tipai Wildlife Luxuries to Its Curated Wildlife Collection

Boutique Wildlife Retreat Joins RARE India Portfolio

RARE India has welcomed Tipai Wildlife Luxuries, a boutique forest retreat in Maharashtra, into its Wildlife Collection. The inclusion strengthens RARE India’s network of owner-led lodges that prioritise conservation, community engagement, and immersive travel experiences across the Indian subcontinent.

Located on 34 acres of regenerated forest near the fringes of Tipeshwar National Park, the retreat combines ecological sensitivity with curated hospitality. The property is approximately two hours from Nagpur and under six hours from Hyderabad, offering both accessibility and seclusion.

Positioning: Wildlife, Wellness and Culinary Immersion

Tipai Wildlife Luxuries is designed as a low-density retreat that blends wildlife experiences with wellness and regionally rooted cuisine.

The property features 11 Forest Villas and four Pool Residences, ensuring privacy and a close connection with nature. Facilities include a forest-facing bar, spa rooted in Ayurveda and local traditions, fitness centre, and chlorine-free pools.

Architecture and Sustainability

Built using rammed earth and locally sourced stone, the retreat’s design reflects climate-responsive architecture and regional craftsmanship.

Regenerative landscaping, native planting, and water catchment systems support long-term ecological balance. Over 300 native species have been reintroduced across the site to encourage forest restoration.

Culinary Identity and Community Integration

Dining at Tipai is led by Chef Amninder Sandhu and centres on ingredient-driven menus shaped by forest produce, seasonal cycles, and regional traditions.

Women from neighbouring villages form a significant part of the culinary team, reinforcing community participation and local knowledge systems.

More than 80 percent of the staff are drawn from nearby villages, supporting livelihood generation and shared stewardship of the land.

Strategic Fit Within RARE India’s Wildlife Collection

The addition of Tipai aligns with RARE India’s focus on experiential, conservation-led hospitality. The retreat exemplifies a model where thoughtful design, responsible tourism practices, and intimate guest experiences converge within India’s emerging wildlife destinations.
