New Marriott-Branded Hotel Planned Near North Goa’s International Airport
Marriott International has announced plans to develop a new 200-room hotel near Manohar International Airport in North Goa through a collaboration with the Sugee Group. Located within Western India’s first Aerocity, the upcoming property will offer modern accommodation, dining, wellness, and extensive event facilities.
Marriott International has formalised an agreement with Sugee Group for the development of a new hotel project in North Goa, close to the region’s international aviation gateway. The development will add a 200-room Marriott-branded property to Goa’s evolving hospitality landscape.
The hotel is proposed within Western India’s first Aerocity precinct, located around five minutes from Manohar International Airport. Conceived as part of a wider integrated development, the precinct is planned to include commercial activity zones, retail areas, leisure components, and institutional facilities, creating a multi-dimensional destination around the airport corridor.
Career Background
Regional Access and Surroundings
The site provides convenient access to North Goa’s tourism belt, connecting travellers to coastal areas such as Anjuna, Baga, and Calangute, while also maintaining road connectivity to Panjim. This positioning allows visitors to combine efficient arrivals and departures with exploration of Goa’s beaches, heritage neighbourhoods, riverfront promenades, and cultural attractions.
Key Achievements
Project Scope
The planned hotel will include:
* 200 rooms and suites
* A selection of food and beverage outlets covering casual dining, specialty cuisine, and lounge formats
* Wellness and recreation facilities, including a spa, pool, fitness centre, and dedicated family-friendly spaces
* Roughly 1,000 square metres of indoor and outdoor event areas, designed to support meetings, conferences, celebrations, and destination functions
The project is intended to cater to a broad mix of travellers, including transit guests, business visitors, leisure tourists, and event-led travel segments.
Current Role & Responsibilities
Strategic Importance
The agreement supports Marriott International’s continued growth in Goa, a market that has seen increasing demand across leisure travel, social events, and premium hospitality experiences. Airport-adjacent hotels are becoming increasingly relevant as Goa expands its aviation capacity and diversifies travel beyond seasonal tourism.
For Sugee Group, the development marks its entry into the hospitality sector, extending its real estate portfolio into managed hotel assets operated by an international brand. The collaboration reflects a long-term approach toward building experience-oriented destinations rather than standalone developments.
Looking Ahead
Once operational, the Goa Marriott Manohar International Airport Hotel is expected to strengthen North Goa’s position as a year-round destination, offering modern accommodation, event infrastructure, and efficient airport connectivity while remaining closely linked to the state’s leisure and cultural appeal.
