ITC Hotels Signs Two Fortune Properties in Maharashtra

Introduction

ITC Hotels Limited has announced the signing of two new properties under its Fortune Hotels brand—Fortune Select Nashik and Fortune Jungle Resort Tadoba—as part of its expansion strategy in Maharashtra. The development highlights a targeted push into tier II cities, wildlife circuits, and destination-led markets, reinforcing the company’s growing presence in one of India’s most active hospitality regions.

Strategic Expansion in Maharashtra

With an existing portfolio of six operational hotels in the state, including two under the Fortune brand, ITC Hotels Limited continues to scale its footprint through a mix of business and leisure offerings. The latest signings reflect a strategic shift towards high-growth locations that combine tourism appeal with improving infrastructure and accessibility.

Anil Chadha, Managing Director of ITC Hotels Limited, noted that Maharashtra remains a priority market for expansion. He highlighted that destinations like Nashik and Tadoba represent evolving demand patterns—balancing spiritual tourism, leisure travel, and emerging urbanisation—while also offering long-term growth potential.

Fortune Jungle Resort Tadoba: Entry into Nature Resorts

The upcoming Fortune Jungle Resort Tadoba marks the brand’s first venture into a nature-focused resort format. Located near the Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve, the property is positioned to cater to wildlife tourism, which has seen rising interest among domestic travellers.

The resort is planned with a design approach that aligns with its natural surroundings and will include guest rooms, a swimming pool, wellness facilities, and recreational areas. Food and beverage offerings are expected to feature an all-day dining restaurant and bar, alongside event spaces suited for small gatherings and leisure groups.

Fortune Select Nashik: Strengthening Urban Leisure Demand

Scheduled to open in October 2028, Fortune Select Nashik will feature 105 rooms supported by dining, meeting, and banquet facilities. The hotel is being developed to cater to a mix of corporate, social, and leisure segments.

Nashik, widely recognised for its vineyards and religious significance, continues to attract steady visitor flows driven by pilgrimage circuits and events such as the Kumbh Mela. Its proximity to Mumbai and Pune, along with ongoing infrastructure improvements, is further strengthening its position as a weekend and business travel destination.

Portfolio Diversification Beyond Metros

The dual signings underline ITC Hotels Limited’s intent to diversify beyond metropolitan markets and expand its presence in destinations that combine cultural, ecological, and economic relevance. By focusing on tier II cities and experiential travel hubs, the company aims to align its portfolio with changing travel preferences and the continued growth of domestic tourism.

Conclusion

The addition of Fortune Select Nashik and Fortune Jungle Resort Tadoba signals a calibrated expansion approach by ITC Hotels Limited, leveraging emerging destinations to strengthen its regional presence while broadening its leisure and destination-led offerings.
