IHG Signs Holiday Inn Goa Kadamba in Panaji — Expands Leisure Portfolio in India
IHG Hotels & Resorts has signed a management agreement with NCPL to develop Holiday Inn Goa Kadamba, a 100-key hotel scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2030. The signing reinforces the group’s focus on expanding its footprint across high-demand leisure destinations in India.
Strategic Location in Panaji
Situated in Kadamba, Panaji, the upcoming hotel is positioned close to key cultural and tourism landmarks including Fontainhas Latin Quarter, Mandovi River Promenade, Dona Paula, and the UNESCO-listed Churches and Convents of Goa. The location places the property at the intersection of Goa’s heritage, administrative, and coastal tourism circuits.
Brand Expansion in Leisure Markets
The signing aligns with IHG Hotels & Resorts’ strategy to strengthen its presence in India’s leisure-driven markets. Goa continues to attract year-round domestic and international demand, making it a priority destination for branded hotel expansion.
Sudeep Jain, Managing Director, South West Asia, IHG Hotels & Resorts, noted that the partnership reflects the brand’s commitment to scaling its presence in high-potential destinations while catering to a balanced mix of leisure and business travellers.
Partnership Perspective
Miket Kankia, Director, NCPL, highlighted Panaji’s positioning as both a cultural and administrative hub, underlining its growing relevance for hospitality development. The collaboration with IHG Hotels & Resorts is expected to bring global brand standards and operational expertise to the project.
Hotel Features and Offerings
Holiday Inn Goa Kadamba will feature five food and beverage outlets, including an all-day dining restaurant, specialty restaurant, bar, lobby lounge, and pool bar. The hotel will also offer three meeting and event spaces, including a ballroom, alongside wellness and leisure facilities such as a swimming pool, fitness centre, and spa.
Growth Momentum in India
With an existing portfolio spanning multiple brands across India and a strong pipeline of upcoming properties, IHG Hotels & Resorts continues to accelerate its growth strategy in the country. The addition of Holiday Inn Goa Kadamba further strengthens its position in the competitive leisure hospitality segment.
This development signals continued investor confidence in Goa’s hospitality market and reinforces Panaji’s emergence as a key node for branded hotel growth.
