IHCL Signs 300-Key Gateway Hotel & Convention Centre in North Bengaluru, Expands City Portfolio

Introduction

Indian Hotels Company (IHCL) has announced the signing of a new Gateway Hotel and Convention Centre in North Bengaluru, reinforcing its expansion strategy in one of India’s fastest-growing business and aviation hubs.

Strengthening Presence in a Key Growth Corridor

The greenfield project will be developed in Kanamangala, Devanahalli, near Kempegowda International Airport. With this signing, IHCL’s portfolio in Bengaluru will expand to 20 hotels, including 11 currently under development, underlining the company’s continued focus on scaling its presence in high-demand urban markets.

Strategic Focus on Corporate and MICE Demand

North Bengaluru has emerged as a prominent growth corridor, driven by airport-led development, infrastructure upgrades, and a thriving business ecosystem. The new Gateway Hotel and Convention Centre is designed to address rising demand from corporate travellers and the meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions (MICE) segment.

Comprehensive Hospitality and Convention Facilities

The 300-key property will feature a range of amenities including an all-day dining restaurant, bar, specialty restaurant, and lounge. Recreational facilities such as a swimming pool and fitness centre will complement the guest experience.

Positioned as a convention-focused development, the hotel will offer extensive banquet and meeting spaces. The largest hall, spanning over 16,000 sq ft, is expected to cater to large-scale conferences, corporate events, and social gatherings.

Partnership with Hombale Group

IHCL has partnered with Hombale Group for this project, aligning with its strategy of collaborating with strong local partners to drive expansion. The partnership reflects a shared vision to capitalise on North Bengaluru’s evolving hospitality landscape.

Expanding Gateway Brand Footprint

The signing also strengthens the footprint of IHCL’s Gateway brand in key business destinations. By integrating full-service hospitality with large-format event infrastructure, the project is positioned to serve both business and leisure demand in the region.
