IHCL Expands Footprint with New Hotel Signing

Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL) has announced the signing of a new hotel in Lucknow under its luxury lifestyle brand, Claridges Collection. The upcoming property will be developed as a brownfield project and will add to IHCL’s expanding presence in the capital city of Uttar Pradesh.

The development reflects the company’s strategy to strengthen its portfolio in emerging urban and cultural destinations across India.

Leadership Perspective on Lucknow’s Growth

Suma Venkatesh, Executive Vice President – Real Estate & Development at IHCL, highlighted the strategic importance of the city.

She noted that Lucknow continues to grow as a prominent destination in North India, supported by improving infrastructure, vibrant cultural heritage and increasing commercial activity. According to her, the addition of the Claridges Collection hotel will enhance IHCL’s brand presence in the city while continuing the company’s collaboration with MD Projects Pvt. Ltd.

Hotel Design Inspired by Awadhi Heritage

The upcoming 108-key Claridges Collection, Lucknow will be located on Lohia Path. The property is designed to reflect the architectural elegance of Awadh, blending classic design influences with contemporary hospitality elements.

The hotel aims to capture the city’s historic charm while offering modern amenities tailored for both leisure and business travellers.

Dining, Wellness and Event Facilities

Guests at the property will have access to a diverse range of dining and leisure experiences. Planned facilities include:

• An all-day dining restaurant

• A bar and two specialty restaurants

• A lobby lounge designed as a social gathering space

The hotel will also feature a swimming pool, fitness centre and a spa offering wellness therapies.

For meetings and events, the property will include dedicated meeting rooms and a banquet hall spanning over 4,000 square feet, supported by pre-function spaces suitable for corporate and social gatherings.

Saurabh Ladhani, Executive Director of Ladhani Group, stated that the project represents the group’s continued commitment to building landmark hospitality assets in North India.

Vivek Ladhani of MD Projects Pvt. Ltd. also expressed enthusiasm about continuing the company’s partnership with IHCL to introduce the Claridges Collection brand to Lucknow.

Lucknow’s Rising Hospitality Potential

Lucknow is known for its rich cultural traditions, classical arts and renowned Awadhi cuisine. The city’s heritage landmarks such as Bara Imambara, Rumi Darwaza and the bustling Hazratganj district continue to attract domestic and international visitors.

With this latest signing, IHCL’s portfolio in Lucknow will reach 11 hotels, including six currently under development, reinforcing the company’s long-term commitment to expanding in key urban and heritage destinations across India.
