IHCL Expands Portfolio to 628 Hotels with Strong Pipeline of 255 Properties

Introduction

The Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL) continues to strengthen its leadership in the Indian hospitality sector, reaching a portfolio of 628 hotels with a robust pipeline of 255 properties. Driven by a mix of strategic acquisitions, new signings, and brand expansion, the company is advancing steadily towards its long-term growth vision under its ‘Accelerate 2030’ strategy.

IHCL Achieves 628-Hotel Portfolio Milestone

IHCL has expanded its global portfolio to 628 hotels, underscoring sustained growth across both domestic and international markets. The company’s development pipeline of 255 hotels further highlights strong momentum and long-term expansion visibility.

This growth reflects a balanced strategy combining organic expansion with targeted acquisitions to strengthen its presence across multiple hospitality segments.

Growth Driven by Strategic Acquisitions and Signings

The company recorded a milestone year with 250 hotel signings, driven by both inorganic expansion and steady organic growth. IHCL enhanced its luxury offerings with the introduction of the Claridges Collection and strengthened its presence in wellness and experiential leisure through acquisitions in Atmantan and Brij Hospitality.

These strategic moves have enabled IHCL to diversify its brand portfolio and cater to evolving consumer preferences across segments.

Midscale Expansion Led by Ginger Brand

IHCL’s midscale growth continues to be anchored by the Ginger brand, which has expanded significantly following acquisitions, including ANK and Pride Hospitality. The brand now has a portfolio of over 250 hotels across more than 150 locations, reinforcing IHCL’s strong foothold in the mid-market segment.

This expansion aligns with increasing demand from value-conscious travellers and rising domestic tourism.

Strong Organic Growth Across Key Brands

IHCL also demonstrated robust organic growth across its brandscape. The Taj brand recorded 19 new signings, including international expansion with a hotel in Cairo, alongside domestic developments such as a 500-key hotel in Patna and a mixed-use project with branded residences in Noida.

Meanwhile, the reimagined Gateway brand has crossed the milestone of 50 hotels, reflecting growing traction in the upscale segment.

New Market Entries and Geographic Expansion

During the fiscal year, IHCL opened over 30 hotels across its brands, expanding into new destinations such as Lakshadweep, Ekta Nagar, Raichak, Kanpur, Vrindavan, and Bhutan.

The company also strengthened its presence in key markets including Goa, Ahmedabad, Coorg, Kochi, Gurugram, Delhi, Varanasi, Udaipur, Haridwar, and Dehradun, supporting its strategy to deepen reach across leisure, pilgrimage, and business destinations.

Operational Growth Through Acquisitions

Through acquisitions, IHCL added more than 100 operating hotels during the year, taking its total number of operational properties to 373 hotels with over 33,000 rooms.

This expansion further enhances IHCL’s scale and operational capabilities across diverse markets.

Outlook: Accelerate 2030 Strategy

IHCL remains on track to achieve its long-term goal of a 700-hotel portfolio under its ‘Accelerate 2030’ strategy. With a strong pipeline, diversified brand portfolio, and continued focus on high-growth markets, the company is well positioned to capitalise on India’s evolving hospitality demand.
