A Practitioner’s Journey Through Complex Operating Environments

Career Background

Sunil Kumar’s professional journey has evolved across hospitality, real estate, and institutional facilities, where he has worked closely with operating hotels, large developments, and project-led environments. Entering the hotel industry in the early 2010s, he developed his foundation in engineering operations at a Marriott-managed property in Goa before moving through assignments in leisure resorts, luxury city hotels, and hill destinations.

Over time, his work has extended beyond routine maintenance to include system optimisation, infrastructure readiness, and coordination between engineering teams and hotel operations.

At the Dharamshala property, Sunil’s mandate will centre on ensuring functional continuity of critical building services, preventive upkeep of plant and equipment, and disciplined monitoring of safety and compliance standards. His approach places emphasis on planning, documentation, and operational consistency—key to sustaining performance in a high-altitude resort setting.

Educational Background and Personal Profile

Trained formally in electrical engineering, Sunil completed his diploma from Government Polytechnic College, Sundernagar, in Himachal Pradesh. Away from professional responsibilities, he maintains an active routine and is drawn to outdoor pursuits including trekking, swimming, and cricket.
