Bengaluru Marriott Hotel Whitefield appoints Flavius Chettiar as Director of Operations

Bengaluru Marriott Hotel Whitefield has announced the appointment of Flavius Chettiar as Director of Operations, strengthening its leadership team as the property continues to expand its operational capabilities in Bengaluru’s dynamic hospitality market.

With more than 15 years of experience across luxury hospitality brands, Chettiar brings strong expertise in food and beverage strategy, large-scale hotel operations, and team leadership. In his new role, he will oversee daily operational functions across departments, ensuring seamless service delivery while driving strategic initiatives aligned with Marriott International’s global service standards.

Strengthening Operational Leadership

At Bengaluru Marriott Hotel Whitefield, Chettiar will play a key role in coordinating cross-departmental operations, maintaining service quality benchmarks, and enhancing the guest experience. His appointment reflects the hotel’s focus on strengthening operational leadership to support continued growth in one of Bengaluru’s most competitive business districts.

Extensive Experience Across Leading Hospitality Brands

Before joining Bengaluru Marriott Hotel Whitefield, Chettiar served as Director of Food & Beverage at The Westin Mumbai Garden City, where he led operational and commercial strategies for the department. During his tenure, he focused on improving guest satisfaction metrics, strengthening profitability, and introducing innovative dining concepts across the hotel’s outlets.

His portfolio included oversight of popular dining venues such as Seasonal Tastes, Prego & Pronto, Eighteen Lounge, and Kangan, along with responsibilities for banquet operations and in-room dining services.

Earlier in his career, Chettiar worked with JW Marriott Mumbai Juhu, where he held the role of Assistant Director of Food & Beverage at the flagship 350-room property. His responsibilities included managing high-volume restaurant operations and coordinating large-scale hospitality events.

Pre-opening and International Exposure

Chettiar’s career also includes experience with The Oberoi Hotels & Resorts, particularly at Trident Bandra Kurla, where he progressed through leadership roles in food and beverage service and banquet management.

He further gained international exposure during his involvement in the pre-opening of The Oberoi Marrakech, where he supported the development of operational systems, helped establish food and beverage service standards, and contributed to team training initiatives during the property’s launch phase.

Professional Development and Leadership Approach

An alumnus of the Oberoi Centre of Learning and Development, Chettiar has built a reputation for operational precision and commercial focus. Throughout his career, he has worked on initiatives aimed at improving service standards, strengthening guest engagement, and developing high-performing hospitality teams.
