Cinnamon Hotels and City of Dreams Sri Lanka Support Direct Ahmedabad–Colombo Flights with FitsAir
Cinnamon Hotels & Resorts and City of Dreams Sri Lanka have partnered with FitsAir to support new direct Ahmedabad–Colombo flights, operating three times weekly from May 15. The route strengthens connectivity for Indian travellers from Gujarat and enhances access to South Asia’s first fully integrated resort destination. The initiative also introduces curated Cinnamon holiday packages that combine Colombo stays with cultural and beach experiences across Sri Lanka. The development is expected to boost tourism flows between India and Sri Lanka while positioning Colombo as a leading lifestyle and leisure destination.
Cinnamon Hotels & Resorts and City of Dreams Sri Lanka have partnered with FitsAir to support the launch of direct scheduled passenger flights between Ahmedabad and Colombo.
The new service is designed to enhance connectivity for Indian travellers, particularly from Gujarat, while improving access to South Asia’s first fully integrated resort destination in Colombo.
Strengthening Air Connectivity Between Gujarat and Sri Lanka
FitsAir will operate the Ahmedabad–Colombo route three times per week, creating a direct link between one of India’s major commercial cities and Sri Lanka’s capital.
The service is expected to serve travellers from Gujarat, one of Sri Lanka’s rapidly growing outbound tourism markets, reflecting increasing leisure travel demand and strong cultural ties between the two regions.
Improved connectivity is also expected to support tourism flows between India and Sri Lanka while making Colombo more accessible for short leisure getaways.
Colombo Positioned as a Lifestyle and Entertainment Hub
Located in central Colombo, City of Dreams Sri Lanka is part of a broader initiative to position the city as a regional hub for entertainment, lifestyle, and hospitality experiences.
Travellers visiting the destination can stay at Cinnamon Life at City of Dreams or choose from other properties within the Cinnamon portfolio in Colombo, including Cinnamon Grand, Cinnamon Lakeside, and Cinnamon Red.
These properties collectively strengthen the destination’s appeal for both leisure travellers and business visitors.
Curated Travel Experiences for Indian Visitors
The new air route will also support the introduction of curated Cinnamon holiday packages for Indian travellers.

Kamal Munasinghe highlighted India’s strategic importance for Sri Lanka’s tourism sector.
He noted that Gujarat has shown growing interest in Colombo as a leisure destination, and the new flights provide travellers with convenient access to the hospitality, entertainment, and lifestyle experiences offered by City of Dreams Sri Lanka.
Meanwhile, Ammar Kassim emphasised that Ahmedabad is a key commercial hub in India and an important addition to the airline’s expanding network. The schedule is designed to maximise traveller convenience and facilitate onward connections through Colombo to other international destinations.
