Ascentis Launches Hospitality Consulting Vertical, Appoints Ritu Chawla

Introduction

Ascentis has introduced a new Hospitality Advisory & Consulting vertical, marking a strategic expansion of its capabilities in hotel development support, alongside the appointment of Ritu Chawla as Executive Director – Hospitality Advisory & Development.

Scope of the New Vertical

The newly launched unit is designed to assist hotel owners and investors from the earliest stages of project planning. It focuses on areas such as feasibility studies, brand positioning, investment advisory, and development planning—critical components that influence long-term asset performance.

Services and Approach

The consulting vertical integrates multiple advisory functions, including hospitality strategy, operator selection, contract negotiations, valuation, and concept development. It also incorporates asset management services to align operational performance with ownership objectives.

A key element of the offering is “Innsight,” a structured, data-driven advisory framework aimed at enabling informed decision-making at the initial stages of project development. By extending involvement into execution, the platform seeks to ensure continuity across the entire lifecycle of a hospitality asset.

Leadership Appointment

To lead this initiative, Ascentis has appointed Ritu Chawla, who brings close to three decades of experience across hotel operations, asset management, financial advisory, and strategic consulting. Her professional background includes working with global hotel brands and advising owners on feasibility, asset positioning, and brand integration.

Her experience across pre-openings, revenue optimisation, and service design provides a comprehensive perspective on translating early-stage strategies into operational outcomes.

Leadership Perspective

Cyril Jacob, Managing Director, Ascentis, noted that many hospitality projects encounter challenges due to delayed or incomplete decision-making, highlighting the importance of early-stage clarity in defining product positioning and capital planning.

Ritu Chawla emphasised that hotel projects require precise alignment of market positioning, brand selection, and financial planning from the outset, adding that the new vertical aims to deliver both strategic clarity and execution continuity—an area often lacking in traditional advisory models.

Strategic Significance

The launch of this consulting vertical reflects Ascentis’ broader strategy to deepen its involvement in hospitality development by bridging the gap between advisory and execution. It also signals increasing demand within the industry for integrated, data-led solutions that support owners across planning, development, and operational phases.
