Ambuja Neotia Group plans integrated healthcare and hospitality development in Guwahati

Ambuja Neotia Group has announced plans to develop a large integrated healthcare and hospitality project in Guwahati following the approval of its investment proposal by the Government of Assam. The project will be located at Fancy Bazar, Old Jail Road, on a 2.88-acre mixed-use land parcel, with total investment expected to exceed ₹700 crore.

The development will combine a 300-bed multi-speciality hospital with a premium four-plus-star hotel, reflecting a strategic approach to strengthening both healthcare infrastructure and hospitality capacity in the region.

Multi-speciality hospital to strengthen healthcare infrastructure

A significant portion of the project will focus on expanding tertiary healthcare services in the state.

Approximately 1.46 acres of the site will be allocated for the hospital, which will be developed by Ambuja Neotia Healthcare Venture Limited with an estimated investment of ₹360–₹400 crore.

The hospital is expected to provide advanced treatment facilities across key disciplines including cardiology, neurology, orthopaedics, oncology, and critical care, supporting the healthcare needs of Assam and the wider North-Eastern region.

Premium 4+ star hotel planned for the project

The remaining 1.42 acres of land will be developed into a premium four-plus-star hotel by Ambuja Neotia Hotel Venture Limited, with an investment of approximately ₹350 crore.

The hotel is expected to feature around 200–250 rooms, along with meeting and banqueting facilities, multiple dining outlets, and guest amenities designed to support business, medical and leisure travellers visiting Guwahati.

Boost to employment and regional economy

The integrated development is expected to create substantial employment opportunities. The hospital alone is projected to generate 1,500 to 2,000 direct jobs, with additional indirect employment through allied healthcare services, hospitality operations, and local businesses.

The project also aims to contribute to the city’s economic development by strengthening Guwahati’s position as a major gateway to the North-Eastern region of India.

Expanding Ambuja Neotia Group’s healthcare footprint in Assam

This initiative marks the second healthcare project by Ambuja Neotia Group in Assam, following the launch of the Neotia Bhagirathi Woman and Childcare Centre in Guwahati in 2025.

The development reflects the group’s continued focus on expanding integrated urban infrastructure that combines healthcare, hospitality, and community-oriented services.

Leadership perspective

Commenting on the development, Parthiv Neotia, Joint Managing Director, Ambuja Neotia Group, said the project reflects the company’s long-term vision for the region.

He noted that Guwahati plays a crucial role as the gateway to the North-East and that the integrated project aims to strengthen healthcare access while supporting economic growth, employment generation, and the city’s evolving role as a centre for business, travel and medical services.
