Accor Signs Sofitel Luxury Resort Project in Rishikesh

Accor has announced the signing of Sofitel Rishikesh Narendra Nagar, a landmark luxury wellness resort set in the foothills of the Himalayas along the sacred River Ganges. Scheduled to open in 2030, the project marks Sofitel’s entry into Rishikesh and further strengthens Accor’s premium leisure portfolio in India.

Rishikesh, globally recognised as the Yoga Capital of the World, offers a unique blend of spirituality, nature, and wellness. Sofitel Rishikesh Narendra Nagar is envisioned as a retreat that harmonises the region’s tranquil energy with Sofitel’s signature French elegance, creating an immersive luxury experience rooted in culture, nature, and rejuvenation.

Resort scale and design

Career Background

Developed across eight acres in Narendra Nagar, overlooking the Ganges valley, the resort will feature 160 rooms and suites. The design will combine contemporary luxury with local influences, offering panoramic views of the mountains, landscaped gardens, and a serene natural setting that enhances relaxation and mindful living.

Dining and culinary experiences

The resort will house five distinct dining venues, including a signature restaurant, a rooftop specialty dining outlet, a pool bar and grill, and an elegant lobby lounge and bar. These spaces will offer refined gastronomy inspired by French culinary flair and Indian traditions, catering to both leisure travellers and destination diners.

Wellness and recreation facilities

Sofitel Rishikesh Narendra Nagar will place a strong emphasis on holistic wellness. Planned amenities include two swimming pools, a Sofitel Spa spanning 623 square metres with six treatment rooms, a modern fitness centre, and curated yoga and meditation programs inspired by the region’s ancient wellness practices.

Key Achievements

The resort will feature over 2,000 square metres of banqueting and event space, including indoor ballrooms, outdoor lawns, and a dedicated bridal suite. These facilities will position the property as a sought-after destination for weddings, wellness retreats, corporate meetings, and social celebrations.
